I liked the patterns but as someone who is colorblind, the patterns are hard to read. The patterns only have color boxes and there aren’t any symbols to tell you what color to stitch. So some colors blend together for me.
Improper Cross-Stitch 35+ Properly Naughty Patterns by Haley Pierson-Cox is a book I requested and the review is voluntary. On the review copies, we don't see all of the patterns but see the titles of them all and boy does this book look fun! I want to start cross stitching for this book! I tried about 40 years ago and didn't have the patience but I probably could do it now with this book motivating me. It has tips, what the newbie will need, etc. I am excited to start! Some of the titles included, I Will Cut You, and it showed butcher knives, lol. Stitchers gonna Stitch, Badass Garden Gnomes, and Home is Where my Hound is. LOL The Gnomes is the one I wanted to see! They are funny and would make great gifts!
This book is great if you want to experience cross stitching with a new twist.
Cute, but not naughty enough for my perspective on everyday life. I already have another book by someone else, but I had hoped to have more projects to entertain my friends by adding this book to my library.
As an accomplished needleworker, I really wanted to like this book. I was underwhelmed with the lack of patterns, which, in my opinion, should be included, or no one will want to purchase this book. The "how-to" portions of the book were well written, organized and true to materials for beginners. The author recommended high quality materials, which in the long run are far less frustrating than using inferior items. She takes you through gathering the materials, stitching and even framing advice. She concludes the book with making your own pattern. I suppose it serves a purpose, but without patterns I can not give this book more than an average review.I want to thank #NetGalley for the opportunity to review honestly this book prior to its publish date by offering an advanced reader copy.
Not as improper as I was looking for, but OK.
My favorite new hobby.
Cute ideas but as a newbie there were some things that I found were missing from the book - basic explanations and such.
