I got this book for my husband and he didn't put the kindle down till it was finished, he said it was really good and he found it an interesting read, yes buy it he says "I loved this book and I recommend it"!
This is a very poor read. All the author did was collect and piece together what rugby players and coaches said after each game leading up to the 2011 world cup. Information that were already public. No one on one interview with Richie Mcaw or Graham Henry. In comparison with Springbok books by John Smit and Victor Matfield, this book is a waste of my money and my time.
A very readable account of the how the All Blacks were able to overcome their terrible record at world cups. Henry had always shown the ability to change and this tells a good story of the changes he, the coaching team and the culture of the All Blacks went through to succeed. The All Blacks style has not suited these tournaments while inferior union nations like Australia have had more success. Despite their usual curse of world cup bad luck NZ finally did it for the second time.
If you are a manager or coach this book shows you the importance of values and principles in a team
Absolutely excellent read - was a bit apprehensive about this book, as I'm not a rugby nut (despite being a Kiwi), but I was interested in the background to how the All Black's finally managed to win the World Cup (by one point in the final!) after 24 years of disappointment.Redemption begins before the World Cup in 2007 and describes how the All Blacks got it all so wrong (losing to their RWC nemesis Les Blues in the quarter final) and goes on to explain in thrilling detail how Graham Henry and the team re-grouped, re-built and went on to win in 2011.Author Gregor Paul is the senior rugby writer for the NZ Herald and the award-winning author of NZ's biggest rugby magazine and he oozes knowledge of the AB's and their 2007 and 2011 campaigns on every page. Very accessible to both the rugby fan and those with a limited knowledge of rugby alike, with plenty of humour thrown in to the mix.A thrilling and engaging read - highly recommend this excellent e-book.
