Very few practical examples of how to use Docker this book is basically just brief Docker documentation in ebook format. On the off chance you want Docker docs on your e-reader you might want this. If you are new to Docker look elsewhere. If you like books where the author has some personality look elsewhere. The best thing about this book is the logo on the cover.
This is a very useful guide for the beginner's.This book explains the various aspects of the Docker Container service.This book is meant for those who are interested in learning Docker as a container service.I hope you must find this book useful.
Got a non original book it seems. A lot of typos (on the first page it says `Buid. Ship. Run` - should be Build instead of Buid. All of the images inside the book are low quality and thus, cant read what commands are used.
I have been facing problem to installing it but this guide has good instructions, with examples and photos that helped me as i'm a beginner, I am learning about building files, Repositories and managing ports, its worth buying.
I purchased the paperback version of this book a few weeks ago. Typos, formatting errors, and similar editorial issues made this book borderline useless. It talks about Docker and provides a few somewhat helpful commands which keeps it from getting a 1-star rating from me. However, the book was so poorly written that I was literally angry when I finished it and realized that I wasted my money.Things I disliked about this book:- Typos are EVERYWHERE. The front cover of the book misspelled the word "BUILD" as "BUID", which is a good indicator of how well this was proofread. There are also issues with spacing between words likethis, which is problematic when trying to decide if a command should be run that way or not.- Screenshots are terrible in quality, oftentimes either cutting off the command that was run, or including too much of the screen when showing the results of a command. If the screenshot had test that wasn't bright white, the print quality washes out the test to nearly black so you can't read it.- Formatting of the book is atrocious. There are random blank pages in the book, which causes the table of contents to have completely incorrect page numbers.- The book claims to be for people who understand Windows, but the majority of the commands given are Linux. The emphasis should be reversed - the book is for people who understand Linux, but have some brief knowledge about Windows.- The flow of the book is very choppy - the phrasing used feels like you're reading an instruction manual for assembling furniture.- The book spends a lot of time telling you how to install Docker, and does so more than once in the book. However, it fails to cover basic topics that are useful, like how to write a simple "hello world" program that involves two containers talking to each other. What good is installing Docker if you can't see an example that has two containers networked together?Things I like about this book:- It covers basic Docker commands with some example output.
I would prefer a discussion of rationale, why, not just an unallocated How To.Might be useful as a reference if you already know about Docked or if you just want to set it up & don,t care.Interestingly, the book consistently uses the glyph for Alpha where is should use the glyph for lower case A.
Dear friend, let me say that I was shocked by getting this book as I could not even imagine that would find such kind of helpful and useful information as it is in this book! If you are even a beginner in that field dont worry, this book is a very good guide even for you!
