Coaches and track and field officials cheat because they do not know the rules for amateur sports. I purchased this book to protect my granddaughter. I am disgusted with male high school coaches who really don't understand the requirements for female athletes. (I was lucky, I had a coach who was an Olympic track winner in track and field). Coaches are not interested in their athletes, they're interested in winning track meets. They don't watch races or other field activities. Coaches can cause your athlete injuries. Coaches fail to observe officials on the field making calls against athletes during track meets. As a parent of a track and field person you need to know what's going on and how best to protect your athlete. Attend practices during practice sessions at school, watch the coaches. Listen to what the coaches are coaching. If you know the rules you can discuss your issues knowledgeably if you know amateur sports law, this book will help.
